Connective tissue is made up of collagen, the tough fibrous material that holds the body together.

The production of connective tissue (bones, cartilage, ligaments, tendons, hair, skin and nails) is dependent on adequate quantities of Silicon. It is an important part of connective tissue flexibility and supports bone formation. It is present within the chondroitin sulfates of cartilage, where it works with calcium, making it important to bone formation, as it is found in active areas of calcification.
