NeoCell's Youth Bestowing Powers

You can’t see collagen, but it’s the essence of healthy skin, joints, and bones — it’s like the glue that holds us together. It's a protein, but no ordinary protein! Unfortunately, the body's natural collagen production typically slows at a rate of 1.5% per year after the age of 25. You can only guess what this decline in collagen does to us. Yep, you got it — wrinkles, tendon injuries, and joint pain.

NeoCell is the originator and industry authority on collagen health.

COLLAGEN FACTS

BEAUTY

  • 75% of the skin is made of Collagen Type 1 & 3
  • Collagen aids in the transport of nutrients to the hair shaft
  • Collagen supports hair and nail thickness and strength
JOINTS
  • 100% of tendons are made of Collagen Type 1 & 3
  • 86% of ligaments are made of Collagen Type 1 & 3
  • 60% of cartilage is made of Collagen Type 2
BONES
  • Over one third of healthy bone is composed of collagen

Collagen Benefits

Every system in our body (except the nervous system) needs healthy collagen, and it provides the strength and resilience typically associated with youth, beauty, and wellness.

#1: Improves Joint and Bone Health

When we lose collagen, our tendons and ligaments start moving with less ease, leading to stiffness, swollen joints and more.

Collagen’s gel-like, smooth structure covers and holds our bones together, allowing us to move without pain. Ingesting collagen is like greasing a creaky door hinge—it helps your joints move more easily, reduces pain often associated with aging and even reduces the risk of joint deterioration.

#2: Builds and Maintains a Healthy Gut Barrier and Supports Good Digestion

Collagen helps break down proteins and soothes your gut’s lining, healing damaged cell walls and infusing it with healing amino acids.

#3: Supports Skin Health in several ways

Increasing collagen levels can help your skin look firmer, increase smoothness, and help your skin cells keep renewing and repairing normally.

A study looking at the anti-aging properties of collagen found when women aged 35-55 took 2.5-5 grams of collagen hydrolysate daily for eight weeks, they saw a significant improvement in skin elasticity, skin moisture, and skin roughness, all with little to no side effects.

Collagen also reduces cellulite and stretch marks. If you’ve noticed more visible cellulite as you’ve gotten older, it’s not your imagination. It’s due to skin losing its elasticity because of decreased collagen, which makes cellulite more evident. Improving skin’s elasticity through collagen helps reduce that dimpling on your skin.

#4: Supports the Growth of Hair and Nails

Collagen might be to blame for peeling and splitting nails, so adding collagen into your diet regimen can help keep your nails strong and possibly reverse signs of hair loss.

#5: Detoxification

Collagen is extremely helpful for detoxing your body of harmful substances and improving blood flow. When the liver absorbs harmful substances, toxins, or alcohol that shouldn’t be passing through it, glycine helps minimize damage caused to the liver.

How To Take Collagen

Collagen peptides are easy to add to your daily routine. If you prefer collagen in powdered form, it’s flavorless, dissolves quickly, and will not gelatinize – perfect for stirring or blending into your warm or cold beverage of choice (ie: smoothie, water, coffee, broth).

If you would rather go the supplement route, NeoCell has a variety of collagen options that are super easy to take.

Soothe and Repair with Turmeric

The herbal plant I'm most enthused about right now is turmeric root. Its vast medicinal power comes from its active ingredient, curcumin—a polyphenol with antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.

When turmeric is ingested by mouth, the curcumin is rapidly metabolized by and removed from the body, limiting its abilities. But when turmeric is applied to the skin’s surface, curcumin may help a range of skin conditions by blocking inflammation and accelerating healing. It also has anti-viral properties and is just good for the skin, in general.

Topical turmeric has been studied for its benefit in managing psoriasis, and preliminary evidence also suggests topical curcumin may help treat precancerous skin lesions by stimulating the removal of damaged cells.

How to Use Turmeric Topically?

Apply a paste of good organic turmeric powder with healthy fats. Olive oil and coconut oil are proven to be effective in promoting penetration of therapeutic agents in the skin.

Depending on the size of the skin lesion take about ¼ to ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder and mix it with less than 1 tablespoon of coconut or olive oil to form a paste. Conducta patch test first, and if there isn’t any skin irritation, apply this daily 3-5 times. Leave on for about 10-20 minutes and wash with cool water.

It's possible turmeric may ease your skin ailments, and soothe your skin. Give it a try!
