Maca, a Peruvian root vegetable, has been used by the Incans for more than 2,000 years and has generated a lot of buzz as an aphrodisiac and its ability to help maintain normal sexual health. Speaking of the reproductive area, it also supports the vital components of sexual activity that support arousal, performance and erectile function.

Nutritionally, maca root offers a variety of vitamins, minerals, and beneficial compounds. Maca root is a rich source of vitamin C, B-vitamins, calcium, iron, and copper (to name a few). Maca also contains 18 of the 20 essential amino acids needed to synthesize protein, and cholesterol controlling sterols. 

Maca is a root vegetable, like a radish, turnip, or potato. Its flavor can be quite earthy or malty, with a caramel or butterscotch undertone, which disappears into smoothies. Maca has a wonderful warm, almost vanilla-like aroma.

I N G R E D I E N T S

2 cups non-dairy milk (hemp, almond, cashew, coconut)

1 ripe banana (the browner the better & frozen is OK)

1 Tbsp almond butter

1 Tbsp flaxseeds

1 tsp maca powder

1 tsp cacao powder

1 tsp vanilla extract or ½ tsp vanilla bean powder

2 Deglet Noor pitted dates

Pinch of Himalayan salt

A handful of ice

D I R E C T I O N S

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth & creamy.
